Responsibilities
- Under supervision of a licensed PT, assist with implementing individualized treatment plans for LTAC patients.
- Facilitate therapeutic activities, including therapeutic exercises, mobility training, gait training, and range-of-motion work.
- Monitor patient response to interventions, document progress, and communicate changes to the supervising PT.
- Assist with patient transfers, positioning, and ADLs as directed; ensure patient safety and comfort during sessions.
- Prepare treatment areas, maintain clean and organized equipment, and uphold infection control and safety standards.
- Educate patients and families on prescribed exercises and safety strategies, promoting adherence to the plan of care.
Requirements
- Active Physical Therapy Assistant licensure or eligibility to practice in New Mexico.
- Ability to work effectively in a long-term acute care / skilled nursing facility setting.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with therapists, nursing staff, and other caregivers.
- Availability for a 14-week travel assignment with guaranteed hours.
- Ability to meet credentialing and orientation requirements for travel assignments.
