Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization procedures, including pre-, intra-, and post-procedure management.
- Prepare the Cath Lab, ensure sterile technique, position patients, and assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Monitor patient status and hemodynamics during procedures; administer medications and adjust as prescribed; manage sedation per protocol under physician supervision.
- Document all aspects of patient care in Cerner EMR; communicate changes in patient status to the interdisciplinary team; ensure accurate post-procedure instructions and follow-up plans.
- Maintain equipment readiness, inventory, and infection control standards; collaborate with cardiology, nursing, anesthesia, and support staff to optimize patient safety and flow.
Requirements
- Active RN license in Georgia
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in the Cath Lab
- AHA BLS certification; ACLS certification
- Cerner EMR experience or strong familiarity
- Ability to work in a fast-paced Cath Lab environment; willingness to relocate for a 13-week assignment
- Willingness to work 10-hour shifts and fulfill guaranteed hours
