Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients in a hospital setting
- Monitor patients, including telemetry where required, and respond to changes in clinical status
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; document accurately in the electronic medical record
- Perform ongoing assessments, develop and revise care plans, and coordinate with the multidisciplinary team
- Educate patients and families on care plans, discharge instructions, and safety considerations
- May assume expanded roles as assigned, including charge nurse duties, precepting new staff, or contributing to unit committees
Requirements
- Active New York RN license
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Telemetry experience required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Ability to work in a hospital setting with rotating 12-hour shifts (D/E/N)
- Education: Completion of an approved nursing education program
