Travel Registered Nurse ER Job
Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (ER) is available for a travel temporary assignment in Saint Louis, MO. Start date: 08/24/2026. Duration: weeks. Weekly pay range: $1,658–$1,812 per week. Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week. Shift: 3x12 nights. Work setting: emergency department in a hospital, with 38 ED beds serving adult and pediatric patients and a separate psych area. Orientation is the first week Monday–Friday on days, with a rotating schedule after. This role requires ER-focused clinical expertise in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive emergency nursing care to adult and pediatric patients in a 38-bed ED
- Conduct rapid assessment, triage, continuous monitoring, and initiate 12-lead ECG with rhythm interpretation
- Manage airway and ventilated patients; perform IV starts; administer medications and vasopressors; support blood product administration
- Maintain central line and chest tube care; assist with procedural sedation and essential bedside procedures
- Stabilize patients following overdoses, head/traumatic injuries, sepsis, and behavioral health crises; ensure patient safety and de-escalation as needed
- Document thoroughly in Epic and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (Respiratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services, Interpretation Services, Unit Secretary)
Requirements
- Active RN license required; IL license accepted at submittal; MO license may be submitted without license but MO or compact must be obtained per rules
- Minimum 2 years ER nursing experience; travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS (BCLS), NIHSS, PALS required; CPI and TNCC preferred
- Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program; current RN licensure
- Ability to work in a high-volume ED setting, maintain patient safety with a 1:4 ratio, and complete pre-employment modules and compliance requirements; orientation during first week; no float outside scope; no on-call
