Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to ED patients across all ages, including newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
- Perform triage and initial assessment; monitor, stabilize, and respond to acute emergencies (stroke, sepsis, trauma, MI, cardiac arrest, respiratory failure)
- Administer medications and treatments per policy; manage equipment such as rapid infusors and Arctic Sun as ordered
- Document care in the electronic medical record (EPIC); communicate clearly with physicians, charge nurses, and other team members
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to coordinate care and discharge planning; educate patients and families as appropriate
- Maintain patient safety, infection control, and quality of care; float to unit needs as required
Requirements
- Active New York RN license with NURSYS verification; license verification must show active NY license and all RN licenses; RTO (time off) requests must be included at submission
- Certifications: current AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC; TNCC must be in-hand
- Experience: minimum 2 years of ED nursing experience; pediatric exposure preferred; travel experience required
- Education: RN prepared and licensed to practice in New York
- EMR: EPIC experience required
- Additional: valid driver’s license with address that matches demographics; ability to work in a fast-paced ED setting and float as needed
