Responsibilities
- Provide triage, assessment, treatment and discharge planning for Emergency Department patients across all ages from newborns to geriatrics
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; monitor patient status and respond to changes or emergencies
- Perform accurate documentation and charting; participate in patient handoffs to ensure continuity of care
- Collaborate with physicians, mid-level providers, nurses, CNAs and ancillary staff to coordinate patient care
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, procedures, medications and discharge instructions
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California
- Emergency Department nursing experience or demonstrated ED competency
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and thrive in a fast-paced ED environment
- Willingness to participate in a 13-week travel assignment
