Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care in the Emergency Department, including triage, initial assessment, treatment, and discharge planning for patients from newborns to geriatrics.
- Monitor patient conditions, manage vital signs, administer medications as ordered, and perform appropriate procedures within scope of practice.
- Collaborate with the CNA and multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and ensure smooth patient flow through the ED.
- Document care accurately in the electronic health record; communicate changes in patient status to the team; respond to emergencies and escalate as needed.
- Support patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions; ensure safe and appropriate discharges.
Requirements
- Current active RN license in California
- Ability to work nights and 12-hour shifts in a high-volume Emergency Department
- Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical documentation
- Willingness to care for patients across the age spectrum (neonates to geriatrics) in an ED setting
- Strong assessment, triage, critical thinking, and communication skills
