Responsibilities
- Provide post-anesthesia care in the recovery unit (PACU) for adult and pediatric patients, focusing on airway, breathing, circulation, and overall recovery.
- Manage large and complex PACU cases, including neuro, thoracic, vascular, and ortho spine, following established recovery protocols.
- Read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips independently; identify heart blocks and respond per protocol.
- Collaborate with anesthesia, surgeons, and perioperative teams to ensure safe handoffs, accurate documentation, and smooth transitions from PACU to next care steps.
- Administer medications and monitor analgesia, sedation, nausea, and other orders; promote patient safety, comfort, and optimized recovery.
- Provide pediatric care as required and support families with clear communication and education.

Requirements
- 2+ years PACU experience with large, complex cases (neuro, thoracic, vascular, and ortho spine); pediatric experience required.
- Must be able to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips and identify heart blocks.
- Must pass telemetry test on day 1 with 84% or better.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS required; TNCC preferred.
- Schedule readiness: able to work 12-hour shifts in a Day/Night rotation with a Monday–Friday schedule, no weekends or holidays, as described in the assignment notes.
