Responsibilities
- Provide quality nursing care to assigned patients within the scope of practice for an LPN in a long-term care/hospital setting
- Monitor patient status, administer prescribed medications and treatments, and document care accurately
- Assess and respond to patient needs, ensuring safety, dignity, and rights are maintained
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including physicians and RNs, to implement and adjust care plans
- Perform basic nursing procedures, including IV therapy within the scope of practice and competency
- Maintain open communication with patients, families, and team members; participate in ongoing competency and quality improvement activities
Requirements
- Current Alaska LPN license in good standing
- Current CPR certification (BCLS) and current BLS
- Graduation from an approved LPN/LVN program
- New graduates accepted; one year of hospital or long-term care experience preferred
- IV therapy certification or coursework preferred
- Ability to work nights and function effectively in a travel assignment within a hospital setting
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required
