Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care in the PCU/Telemetry setting, with a focus on cardiology patients including post-catheterization, STEMI, and structural heart cases
- Monitor patient status, administer medications per physician orders, and document care interventions accurately
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care, implement plans, and escalate changes as needed
- Maintain electronic medical record documentation in EPIC, including NIHSS scoring where applicable and timely updates to the care plan
- Float to central pool PCU units as needed and adhere to unit-specific policies; participate in unit coverage without blocking schedules
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, procedures, medications, and discharge instructions; support discharge planning as appropriate

Requirements
- Certifications: NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), ACLS, and BLS
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience; must have large trauma Level 1, teaching facility experience; cardiology unit experience with post-catheterization, STEMI, and structural heart patients
- Technology: EPIC experience within the past 2 years
- Scheduling and flexibility: Willingness to work flexible scheduling, minimum every other weekend; no block schedules; able to work Monday through Sunday as needed to meet unit needs
- Additional: NIHSS required prior to start; reliable transportation required due to limited public transit; employment history gaps over 90 days must be explained; ability to provide complete work history (bed counts, EMR, facility type, etc.) during submission
