Travel Registered Nurse Behavioral Health / Psychiatric Job
Registered Nurse, Behavioral Health / Psychiatric – Helena, MT. This travel assignment starts on 06/07/2026 and runs for 13 weeks. You’ll work 36 guaranteed hours per week on a 12-hour night shift (12x3) in a hospital-based inpatient behavioral crisis stabilization unit. Weekly pay is $1,940–$2,096. Epic EMR is in use for documentation and care coordination.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for adults ages 18–60+ within an inpatient behavioral crisis stabilization unit.
- Conduct initial assessments, monitor vital signs, administer medications per orders, and update the plan of care as patient status changes.
- Utilize de-escalation, risk assessment, and crisis intervention techniques; maintain a safe, therapeutic milieu and adhere to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (psychiatry, social work, therapy, case management) to develop and implement patient-centered care plans; communicate changes during handoffs.
- Document care and interventions in the Epic EMR with accurate, timely charting; ensure compliance with BLS and CPI requirements and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of approximately 1:7–8 and respond to emergencies or rapid behavioral health changes as needed.
Requirements
- Active Montana RN license (or compact MT license) on file; ability to practice in the state.
- BLS and CPI certifications active and on file at submission.
- Psychiatric nursing experience of 2+ years; first-time traveler consideration only with 3+ years of psychiatric experience.
- Epic EMR experience required or demonstrated ability to use Epic effectively.
- Availability for 12-hour night shifts; able to work in an inpatient behavioral health setting serving adults 18–60+.
- Submission requirements: complete demographic information (address, email, full DOB, SSN, full name) at submittal; ALL RTO or schedule requests must be included with submission; adhere to the 200-mile radius travel policy.
