Respiratory Therapist (Registered Respiratory Therapist) – Burlington, Vermont, United States. Start date: 05/25/2026. Duration: 4 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,438 - $2,542 per week. Shift: 3x12-hour nights. Setting: hospital-based travel temporary assignment. This opening requires an active RRT license on file and involves inpatient respiratory care in Adult ICU and ED with NICU Level III coverage; PICU experience is preferred. Teaching-hospital experience and Epic charting experience within the past 2 years are required.

Responsibilities
- Deliver and supervise comprehensive respiratory care for adult ICU and ED patients, including ventilator management, airway support, and inhalation therapies; monitor patient responses and adjust therapies per physician orders
- Interpret arterial blood gases and other diagnostic data; document progress and plan in the patient chart (Epic) and communicate changes to the care team
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied professionals; participate in rounds; provide timely responses to respiratory emergencies and critical events
- Provide NICU Level III patient care as assigned, with PICU coverage preferred; ensure adherence to AHA guidelines (BLS, ACLS, PALS) and maintain NBRC verification
- Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment; ensure proper infection control, supply management, and documentation of therapy and outcomes
- Support teaching and mentorship within a teaching hospital environment; assist with training and orientation of students or residents as assigned
Requirements
- Active Respiratory Therapist license on file; RRT credential required
- Certifications: BLS, NBRC Verification, ACLS, PALS, NRP
- Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience; prior travel experience preferred
- Inpatient ICU/ED/NICU Level III experience required; PICU experience preferred; teaching hospital experience required
- Epic experience within the past 2 years required
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts; weekends as needed; schedule flexibility
- Reliable transportation required; public transportation not available in this area; personal vehicle or rental strongly recommended; wintered vehicle with all-season or snow tires advised (Nov–Apr)
