Respiratory Therapist (Registered Respiratory Therapist) needed for a travel assignment in Burlington, Vermont. Start date: 06/01/2026. Duration: 4 weeks. Shift: 3x12 Nights. - Inpatient, teaching-hospital level setting; specialized units include Adult ICU and ED, NICU Level III (PICU preferred)
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive respiratory care for adult ICU and ED patients; manage ventilator therapy and airway support; perform assistance with NIV, bronchodilator therapy, and chest respiratory procedures as ordered
- Lead care for NICU Level III patients; support NICU needs in collaboration with the neonatology team; PICU experience preferred
- Monitor patient status, interpret ABG results, adjust ventilator parameters per physician orders, and document care in Epic within the past 2 years
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute patient-centered care plans; participate in patient and family education
- Ensure equipment function, perform routine checks, and adhere to infection control and safety protocols; weekends may be required; no routine on-call duty
- Document all specialties and procedures accurately across employment history; maintain up-to-date CPR/ACLS/PALS/NRP certifications as required
Requirements
- Active Respiratory Therapist license on file and NBRC Verification; must be RRT (not CRT)
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of professional experience; prior travel experience preferred
- Inpatient experience in ICU and ED required; NICU Level III experience required; PICU experience preferred
- Epic electronic medical record experience within the past 2 years required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred; all specialty experience must be well-documented in prior employment entries
- Must be able to start within the next week and have reliable transportation due to limited public transit options
- Must be able to work in a high-acuity hospital environment with flexible weekend staffing
Education
- Degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent credential required for RRT licensure
