Responsibilities
- Provide intrapartum care with 1:1 labor management and comprehensive fetal monitoring (external/internal, including IUPC) and perform sterile vaginal exams as part of labor assessment.
- Assist and circulate for cesarean deliveries; participate in cesarean recovery and Maternal care following procedures.
- Deliver neonatal/neonatal-combined care per NRP protocols: newborn assessment, thermoregulation, and stabilization as needed.
- Provide postpartum and couplet care: hemorrhage recognition and management, breastfeeding support, and discharge teaching.
- Manage high-risk antepartum conditions (e.g., preeclampsia/HELLP, magnesium sulfate, induction/oxytocin, VBAC management) in collaboration with the care team.
- Complete documentation in Epic; collaborate with interdisciplinary partners and participate in 24/7 on-site coverage of obstetric providers, anesthesia, and support services.
Requirements
- Active RN license; compact license required at submission
- Certifications: BLS (BCLS), ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate OR Relias Fetal Monitoring (all are hard stops)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years clinical RN experience; first travel RNs accepted
- Education: Completion of an approved nursing program leading to RN licensure
- Ability to work in a high-risk L&D unit and to float to postpartum as needed
- Epic charting experience required
