Travel Speech Language Pathologist Job
Speech Language Pathologist | Juneau, Alaska, United States | Travel assignment in a Community Mental Health provider setting within Rehabilitation Services. Responsibilities
- Provide Speech-Language Pathology services by physician referral in multiple settings, including inpatient/outpatient and home health, with primary focus on general SLP evaluations and treatment to impact functional abilities.
- Develop, implement, and modify a therapy plan of care with goals based on assessment, and document patient progress and outcomes in accordance with hospital and department policies.
- Educate patients and families, provide home exercise programs, and communicate methods that foster independence and self-care; ensure instructions are clear and culturally appropriate.
- Collaborate with referring providers, nurses, and rehabilitation colleagues; attend care conferences and participate in discharge planning and care transitions as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Maintain professional documentation, maintain equipment and supplies, and contribute to program development, quality improvement, and productivity initiatives.
- May provide services in diverse settings (inpatient, outpatient, home visits, community sites) and occasional multi-day travel to remote locations by boat or plane.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- CCC-SLP credential; Alaska state license in Speech-Language Pathology required at time of submittal.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Pediatric patient experience, including outpatient settings, required.
- Flu vaccine required.
- Start date will be no less than 6 weeks after fingerprint processing is completed; ability to coordinate with background check timelines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional setting and travel to remote locations as needed.
