Responsibilities
- Deliver direct, coordinated nursing care for an ER patient population according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Assess patients, implement care plans, monitor responses, and administer medications as ordered within scope.
- Triage, prioritize, and rapidly respond to changing patient conditions in a high-acuity environment.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; communicate changes in patient status clearly and promptly.
- Supervise and direct activities of nursing staff across levels; delegate tasks based on patient needs and staff competencies.
- Document care accurately and maintain patient safety, privacy, and quality standards throughout the shift.
Requirements
- Active California Registered Nurse license
- Graduation from an accredited RN program (ADN or BSN)
- Current BLS (American Heart Association) certification
- ER nursing experience or recent practice in emergency care setting
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts in a fast-paced ER environment
- Travel-nursing eligibility and ability to work in California
