Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care in the ED across all ages, including triage, initial assessment, ongoing monitoring, and timely interventions
- Obtain and interpret 12-lead EKGs; manage telemetry and rhythm disturbances as needed
- Administer medications via Omnicell; document accurately in the Epic electronic health record
- Collaborate with Respiratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Work, Rapid Response, Transport, and Interpretation services to coordinate patient care and throughput
- Support discharge planning and patient/family education; ensure patient safety and adherence to ED protocols
- Maintain unit operations and documentation per policy; participate in on-call and rapid response processes as required

Requirements
- NY RN license required at time of submission and must be in hand
- Certifications: BLS, PALS, NIH (NIHSS); Preferred: ACLS, TNCC
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in the ED; 5 years ED experience preferred
- Skills: Proficiency with Epic charting; Omnicell medication system; rhythm recognition and interpretation
- Testing/compliance: Relias EKG exam required within 72 hours of signing; facility proctored rhythm test with >80% overall and 100% accuracy on critical rhythms
- Pre-start items: HealthStream pre-start modules; certifications and references required; modules to be completed by 7 a.m. the Wednesday prior to start
- Scheduling/floating: Must be willing to float within the hospital as needed (manager discretion, within skill set)
- Residency: Local residency outside a 50-mile radius
