Responsibilities
- Provide direct, patient-centered nursing care to adults in the Med Surg Tele unit, including medical-surgical and oncologic-leaning cases
- Monitor patient status and telemetry data, respond to changes in condition, and implement nursing interventions per physician orders and unit protocols
- Administer prescribed medications and IV therapies, including blood products, IV antibiotics, anticoagulants, and chemotherapy/biotherapy as trained
- Maintain central lines and perform IV starts; assist with tube feedings as needed; manage related equipment and supplies
- Document assessments, plans, interventions, and outcomes in EPIC; collaborate with multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
Requirements
- Active RN license in Vermont or ability to obtain VT licensure
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS; NIHSS required; Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification preferred
- EPIC EMR experience within the past 2 years is required
- Prior travel nursing experience is required
- Oncology care exposure and ability to care for patients with complex medical needs is preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts in a hospital Med Surg Tele setting
