Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive pediatric cardiovascular echocardiography studies, including fetal echocardiography when applicable, ensuring high-quality images and patient safety.
- Acquire, optimize, and document images; perform measurements and calculations; prepare findings for physician interpretation.
- Operate and maintain echocardiography equipment, monitor and support patients during exams, and adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
- Prepare and deliver clear study results; ensure correct labeling and efficient archiving of images in the patient record.
- Collaborate with cardiology physicians and imaging colleagues to determine exam protocols and optimize workflow; communicate findings in a timely manner.
- Participate in on-call responsibilities as required by the shift and contribute to a cooperative, across-the-team environment.
Requirements
- RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) or CCI-RCS certification required
- RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) certification required
- Pediatric Echocardiography (PE) certification required
- ARDMS-PE or CCI-RCCS certification required
- BLS from an approved provider required
- Two years of relevant ultrasound experience or completion of a related certification/course (cardiac, vascular, pediatric, or fetal) preferred
