Responsibilities
- Perform pediatric cardiovascular echocardiograms using standard imaging protocols and appropriate equipment
- Acquire comprehensive echocardiographic views, measurements, and Doppler data; optimize image quality and patient safety
- Prepare and maintain accurate case documentation, including preliminary findings as appropriate and timely communication with the medical team
- Collaborate with pediatric cardiology colleagues to ensure appropriate study indications and high-quality patient care
- Maintain equipment, comply with infection control and safety standards, and assist with routine QC/maintenance as needed
- Participate in on-call duties as assigned and respond promptly to urgent requests
Requirements
- Licensure/Certifications: RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) or CCI-RCS required; RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) or CCI-RVS required; Pediatric Echocardiography (PE) certification required; ARDMS-PE or CCI-RCCS required; BLS required; ECHO certification and pediatric-specific credentials are essential
- Experience: Two years of experience as a cardiac ultrasound sonographer preferred; two years as a vascular sonographer preferred; two years as a pediatric cardiac sonographer preferred; one year of fetal ECHO experience preferred
- Education: Related coursework and certified programs as listed in the job notes (one-year certified cardiac ultrasound course; certified vascular sonography course; certified pediatric sonography course; certified fetal echocardiography course as applicable)
- Ability to work in a hospital imaging setting and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
