Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients on a 3x12 night schedule
- Administer medications, including IV antibiotics and anticoagulants; manage blood products and chemotherapy/biotherapy infusions as indicated
- Initiate IV access, maintain central lines, and perform related line care
- Telemetry monitoring as part of nursing duties; respond to rhythm changes and patient deterioration
- Prepare and administer tube feeds as needed; monitor nutritional status
- Document care and progress in the electronic medical record (EPIC) and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care
Requirements
- Active RN license with license on file at time of submission
- BLS and ACLS certifications; NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- EPIC EMR experience within the past 2 years is required
- Ability to work a night shift on a Med Surg Tele unit and to handle telemetry responsibilities
- Reliable transportation is recommended; public transportation is not readily available in the area
