Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adult medical-surgical patients, with a focus on orthopedic post-operative and general medical needs
- Monitor patient status, assess vitals, pain levels, mental status, and respond to changes in condition
- Administer prescribed medications and IV therapies; monitor for adverse reactions; ensure safe medication practices
- Collaborate with physicians, rehabilitation services, wound care, and case management to implement individualized care plans
- Assist with postoperative care, mobility, wound management, nursing assessments, and discharge planning
- Document accurately in the medical record; maintain patient privacy and safety; adhere to clinical policies and procedures
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med Surg experience
- AHA BLS and NIH Certification required; ACLS preferred
- 12-hour night shift availability
- Experience in inpatient surgical units with orthopedic patient populations preferred
- No local candidates within 50 miles
