Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Assess patients, develop and implement care plans, administer medications, monitor responses, and document care activities and patient progress.
- Monitor and respond to patient conditions; coordinate with physicians, therapists, and other health professionals to optimize outcomes.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; ensure safe, effective, and compassionate care.
- Maintain clear, accurate documentation and communications; uphold patient safety, infection control, and privacy standards.
- Manage a general acute care unit with a mix of medical and surgical patients; adapt to a patient population consistent with no more than 65% medical or 65% surgical, and escalate needs as appropriate.
Requirements
- Active California Registered Nurse license
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (RN)
- 1+ year of recent medical-surgical or general acute care nursing experience
- Ability to work nights and meet the 3x12-hour shift schedule
- Willingness to participate in a 13-week travel assignment and to travel as required for the position
