Travel Respiratory Therapist Job
Respiratory Therapist needed for a travel assignment in San Luis Obispo, California. This 13-week contract begins on 06/22/2026 and features a 3x12 night shift in a Short Term Acute Care setting. Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive respiratory therapy to neonatal and adult patients per physician orders
- Manage ventilation support and airway care, including neonatal intubation for NICU patients
- Monitor patient status, adjust ventilator settings, interpret arterial blood gases, and respond to alarms
- Perform airway clearance therapies, suctioning, chest physiotherapy, and aerosolized treatments
- Document care, ensure accuracy in the medical record, and communicate with the multidisciplinary team
- Participate in occasional neonatal transports and support during critical care events
Requirements
- Licensure: Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license is required
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP are required
- Experience: 5 years of critical care experience with 2–3 years in NICU, including neonatal intubation
- Education: Evidence of appropriate respiratory care education and credentialing
- Ability to work in a high-acuity, rotating night shift environment with occasional on-call duties
