Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive respiratory care, including ventilator management, therapies, and weaning per physician orders.
- Perform bedside assessments, document care plans, and adjust therapy based on patient response.
- Administer aerosolized medications, airway clearance techniques, and participate in sputum sampling as needed.
- Support high-acuity patients, with specialized involvement in NICU cases and neonatal intubation when required.
- Respond to routine and emergent events as part of the critical care team; participate in occasional neonatal transports.
- Maintain compliance with ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP protocols; document care accurately in the electronic health record.
Requirements
- Active Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license is required.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP are required.
- Experience: minimum 5 years of critical care experience, with 2–3 years in NICU; neonatal intubation experience preferred.
- Education: graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program.
- Ability to work in a high-acuity hospital setting and to participate in neonatal transport as needed.
