Travel Registered Nurse L&D Job
Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (L&D) in Bakersfield, California. A travel, temporary assignment starting May 18, 2026 for 13 weeks. Work 36 hours per week on a nights schedule (3x12). This role is performed in a hospital setting, delivering direct obstetric nursing care. Weekly pay ranges from $2,389 to $2,567.

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to patients in labor and delivery and the immediate postpartum period, following established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, administer medications as ordered, assist with labor and delivery as needed, and provide postpartum care.
- Supervise and direct activities of nursing staff across assigned shifts; coordinate care with anesthesia, obstetrics, and other disciplines.
- Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the healthcare team; document assessments, plans, interventions, and outcomes.
- Maintain patient safety, privacy, and infection control standards; demonstrate critical thinking and clinical judgment in fast-paced OB settings.
- Participate in care planning, discharge planning, and quality improvement activities as part of the interdisciplinary team.
Requirements
- Willingness to work a night shift schedule (3x12) for a 13-week travel assignment.
- Ability to deliver care in a labor and delivery environment, with a focus on patient safety and evidence-based practice.
- Demonstrated clinical skills appropriate for obstetric nursing, including assessment, monitoring, and responsive intervention.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to coordinate with interdisciplinary teams.
- Availability to start on or around May 18, 2026 and fulfill the 13-week assignment.
