Travel Registered Nurse ICU Job

Los Angeles, CA
Contracted
Adventist Health White Memorial
Mid Level
Embark on an intensive ICU nursing journey in Los Angeles, California, where your expertise as a Registered Nurse can transform critical care outcomes and restore hope for patients and families facing life-threatening conditions. In this dedicated ICU role, you’ll lead complex patient assessments, orchestrate rapid interventions, and collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to deliver evidence-based care at the highest standard. You’ll monitor hemodynamics, manage ventilators, titrate vasoactive medications, and safeguard the comfort and dignity of those under your watch. The impact you make will extend beyond the bedside as you mentor new team members, uphold best practices, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. California’s beauty is a constant backdrop to your work: sun-kissed beaches along the Pacific, the cinematic skyline of LA, scenic drives along the Pacific Coast Highway, and a rich tapestry of cuisine and arts that refresh your perspective after demanding shifts. Separately, the state’s diverse landscapes and vibrant communities invite you to explore, recharge, and bring renewed energy back to your patients and colleagues.

This opportunity offers the chance to immerse yourself in the dynamic life of Los Angeles while also providing the option to rotate to other locations across the United States, expanding your professional horizons and cultural experiences. You’ll enjoy California’s favorable climate, access to top-tier medical resources, and proximity to renowned educational and research institutions. When you’re ready for a change of scenery, you can access additional settings that challenge and refine your ICU skill set—neuro ICU, cardiac ICU, general critical care—and you can exchange ideas with diverse patient populations and colleagues from across the country. The role supports work-life balance through structured scheduling, comprehensive onboarding, and thoughtful housing support, letting you integrate your personal life with your professional ambitions. You may also benefit from networked opportunities to collaborate on multicenter studies and best-practice initiatives that elevate standard of care across settings.

Key responsibilities include leading vigilant patient surveillance in the ICU; performing high-acuity procedures and coordinating care; ventilator management, arterial and central line care, and continuous hemodynamic monitoring; precise medication administration, sedation and analgesia management, and renal support as needed; participating in daily rounds, implementing detailed care plans, and ensuring rigorous infection control and patient safety. You’ll document clearly in electronic health records, communicate effectively with families during difficult conversations, and contribute to ongoing quality improvement projects. There is ample opportunity for professional growth within critical care: pursuing advanced certifications, taking on mentorship roles, and leading initiatives that shape practice standards. In addition to competitive weekly pay ranging from $1,879 to $1,970, you’ll have access to a sign-on bonus, housing assistance, and extension opportunities that allow you to lengthen or modify your assignment based on mutual fit. Comprehensive support is provided 24/7 by the traveling team, with dedicated coordinators and on-call clinical leads to address any clinical or logistical questions as you navigate shifts, orientation, and handovers. Start date is 04/06/2026, and assignments run for multiple weeks with flexible scheduling; while the program does not guarantee hours, you will be scheduled to meet patient needs and your own availability within the contract framework. Please note: guaranteed hours may vary by assignment and location, and all terms will be finalized during the hiring process.

Our client is committed to empowering its nursing staff, prioritizing clear career pathways, ongoing education, and a supportive work culture. You’ll have access to mentorship, professional development resources, and recognition for your contributions. The company emphasizes teamwork, safety, and respect for diverse backgrounds, providing an environment where you can grow from bedside to leadership roles and expand your scope of practice within ICU specialties. You’ll thrive in a culture that values resilience, collaboration, and continuous learning, where your clinical judgment is trusted and your ideas for improvement are heard and implemented.
