Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy assistant services under the supervision of the physical therapist, implementing components of the plan of care.
- Perform therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, ROM enhancements, and functional mobility tasks.
- Assist patients with transfers, daily living activities, and safe ambulation, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Monitor patient responses during treatment, document progress, and communicate notable changes to the supervising PT.
- Maintain accurate treatment records, follow patient care protocols, and ensure equipment is cleaned and ready for use.
- Promote safety, infection control, and adherence to facility policies during all clinical activities.
Requirements
- Current Physical Therapy Assistant license in Maine or eligibility to practice per state regulations.
- Graduate of an accredited PTA program (associate degree).
- Ability to work in a skilled nursing setting and participate in a 13-week travel assignment.
- Relevant clinical PTA experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.
