Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adults in PCU/IMCU floors with cardiac conditions, including STEMI, NSTEMI, CTS, and chest pain; perform regular assessments and monitor telemetry.
- Administer prescribed medications and cardiac drips (Milrinone, Dobutamine, vasopressors) as ordered; observe for drug effects and adverse events.
- Float to all PCU/IMCU floors as needed, maintaining a 1:3–4 nurse-to-patient ratio and coordinating care with the care team.
- Document accurately in the EPIC EMR; update care plans, progress notes, and discharge planning in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and ancillary staff; respond to changes in patient condition and provide education to patients and families as appropriate.
- Maintain BLS/ACLS standards, infection control practices, and safety protocols at all times.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license to practice in Georgia (or eligibility to obtain)
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar-sized facility or in PCU/IMCU/telemetry with cardiac populations
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR
- Ability to float across PCU/IMCU floors and manage high-acuity cardiac patients
