Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for ER patients according to established standards and the nursing process.
- Collect relevant data, assess health status, analyze findings, and develop care plans; implement and adjust interventions as outcomes are monitored.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, supervise and direct activities of nuring staff as appropriate, and delegate duties to support staff.
- Administer medications and therapies, respond to emergencies, and maintain patient safety and comfort in a fast-paced environment.
- Participate in discharge planning, provide patient and family education, and document care and changes in patient condition clearly for continuity of care.
Requirements
- Current, unrestricted RN license in the state of practice (California)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor
- Minimum two years of recent ER or acute care hospital nursing experience
- BSN preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced ER environment and participate in a travel assignment requiring 3x12-hour shifts
