Responsibilities
- Perform specialized breast imaging examinations (mammography) to aid diagnosis and treatment of breast disease.
- Operate dedicated mammography equipment and ensure high-quality, diagnostic images.
- Position patients, verify safety, and apply radiation safety principles to protect patients and staff.
- Ensure proper documentation, patient prep, and adherence to department protocols and QA measures.
- Communicate with radiologists and the care team; provide patient-centered care and explain procedures.
- Maintain equipment, oversee routine quality checks, and support workflow efficiency in the imaging area.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent
- Active California Radiologic Technologist license or eligibility
- ARRT (Radiography) certification or eligibility
- Mammography certification or ability to obtain during assignment
- Ability to perform breast imaging exams and operate related equipment
- Strong patient-care and communication skills; able to work in a fast-paced imaging environment
