Travel Registered Nurse L&D Job
Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (L&D), Fort Defiance, Arizona. This travel assignment starts 06/15/2026 and runs for 13 weeks. Weekly pay ranges from $2,694 to $2,815, with guaranteed hours of 36 per week. Shift is 12-hour Day shift, with flexibility to cover other shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed. Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital.

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care for laboring mothers and newborns, including monitoring maternal and fetal status, administering orders, and documenting in the medical record.
- Assist with deliveries (including cesarean births as needed) and provide postpartum care; support rooming-in and BFHI practices, and newborn care in the mother-baby unit.
- Monitor postpartum mothers for complications, manage medications per orders, and provide newborn assessments and care.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff; respond to fetal distress, adjust care plans, and participate in handoffs and rounds.
- Maintain delivery and postpartum environments, prepare and stock rooms, and ensure adherence to infection control and safety protocols; may assume charge nurse responsibilities after training.
- Flexibility to float to other departments as needed and to adapt to varying patient loads and assignment needs.
Requirements
- Active RN license (state of practice as applicable) and in good standing.
- Minimum 5 years of recent experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn care in a healthcare setting.
- Certifications: American Heart Association ACLS or ALSO, BLS, NRP; and AWHONN Advanced FHM required. May substitute RNC-EFM for AWHONN FHM.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts and be flexible to cover weekends and holidays; capacity to float to other departments when qualified.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, documentation, and patient education skills; capable of functioning effectively in a high-acuity perinatal unit.
