Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret telemetry, assess rhythm changes, and respond to alarms for assigned patients
- Administer medications and therapies per orders; manage IVs and device precautions
- Provide direct patient care, including ongoing assessments, documentation, and assistance with activities of daily living
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the care team; communicate changes in patient status
- Document accurately in the electronic medical record; support patient admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed
- Ensure patient safety and adherence to unit protocols; participate in float coverage and surge adjustments as required
Requirements
- Active Kansas RN license and BLS certification
- Associate degree in nursing (ADN) or higher
- Minimum 1 year of Telemetry RN experience in a hospital setting
- Ability to float to other units as needed per division requirements
- Credentialing tasks (CBC, drug screen, and lab work) completed within 72 hours of offer
- Availability to complete required orientation (KU NEO, KU DON, EPIC) during the start week
- Holiday coverage: able to work two major holidays from the specified options
