Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to neonatal patients in the NICU, including ongoing assessments and vital sign monitoring.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed; manage IVs, monitoring devices, vents, and NICU protocols.
- Collaborate with the neonatology team to develop and implement individualized care plans; participate in rounds and care conferences.
- Document care and updates in the electronic medical record (Cerner) with accurate and timely charting.
- Monitor for changes in patient status, anticipate needs, and escalate concerns to the medical team as required.
- Support families with education and transition planning, using developmentally appropriate and family-centered communication.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Georgia
- Minimum 2 years of recent NICU experience
- BLS and NRP certifications (American Heart Association)
- Experience with Cerner or a similar electronic medical record system
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and meet holiday coverage requirements
- Eligible for travel assignment and able to complete onboarding and credentialing processes
- Education: graduate of an accredited nursing program; eligible for GA RN licensure
