Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for ICU patients or assigned groups per established standards and the nursing process.
- Supervise and direct activities of nursing staff at various levels; coordinate care with other disciplines; exercise critical thinking and professional judgment.
- Collect relevant patient data, analyze assessment findings, diagnose care needs, and develop an intervening plan to achieve outcomes.
- Implement the plan, coordinate care delivery, and promote a safe, healing environment; evaluate patient progress and modify plans as needed.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams; provide health information and education; participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
- Delegate appropriately and oversee duties of the healthcare team; identify and address learning opportunities for patients, families, and team members.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies and safety protocols; demonstrate professional communication and teamwork in a high-acuity setting.
Requirements
- Licensure: Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice (California) required
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification from an approved vendor per policy
- Experience: At least two years of recent acute care/ICU nursing experience; Epic EMR experience required
- Education: BSN preferred
- Additional: Ability to work in a hospital ICU setting; strong clinical judgment and the ability to collaborate across disciplines; adherence to vaccination requirements as a condition of employment where applicable
