Responsibilities
- Deliver physical therapy assistant services under supervision to adult patients in an LTAC setting, following the plan of care.
- Implement therapeutic exercise programs, gait and balance training, ROM activities, and modality interventions as prescribed.
- Monitor patient progress, document outcomes, and communicate changes to the supervising therapist and care team.
- Assist with patient mobility, transfers, and positioning to support safe, effective rehabilitation.
- Maintain clean, organized treatment areas and ensure safe use and cleaning of therapy equipment.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other disciplines to integrate therapy into daily care and discharge planning.
Requirements
- Active Physical Therapy Assistant license in Maine or eligibility to practice in Maine.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Experience in a long-term care or LTAC setting preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-centered LTAC environment.
- Strong documentation, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Availability to work the scheduled shift and meet guaranteed hours.
