Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) travel assignment in a skilled nursing facility located in Waterloo, NY. Start date: 03/10/2026 for a 14-week contract. Rotating shifts. Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect resident care under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel, supporting adult and geriatric patients within the CNA scope of practice
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including hygiene, grooming, dressing, incontinence/catheter care, toileting, turning/positioning, and skin care; document per protocol
- Maintain resident environment and safety: respond promptly to call lights, alarms, and safety checks; ensure proper use of safety equipment and infection control practices
- Support nutritional needs: assist with meal delivery, tray setup, adaptive equipment, and feeding as needed while honoring resident preferences; document as required
- Deliver rehabilitative/restorative care: assist with range of motion, ambulation, transfers, body alignment, and use of assistive devices; document progress per policy
- Uphold residents’ rights, address refusals or concerns, and promptly communicate changes in physical, emotional, or psychosocial status to the charge nurse or supervising nurse
- Adhere to facility policies and procedures and exercise professional judgment for safety and quality of care; exposure to blood and body fluids may occur, following all safety protocols
Requirements
- Active NYS Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license; licensure in good standing with at least 1 year of licensure experience preferred
- BLS (American Heart Association or RQI) certification required
- Minimum 1 year of prior LTC or CNA experience
- Must be able to start full-shift orientation on a Tuesday or Thursday
- Ability to perform duties in a skilled nursing facility environment, including mobility and transfers; ability to work a rotating shift and communicate effectively with the care team
