Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients in the Telemetry setting, following established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Assess patient conditions, develop and implement care plans, administer medications and therapies, monitor responses, and document outcomes.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of nursing staff on the unit; coordinate care with physicians and other disciplines.
- Utilize critical thinking and clinical judgment to respond to evolving patient needs; escalate concerns as appropriate.
- Maintain patient safety, accuracy in documentation, and adherence to infection control practices; ensure timely and accurate med administration and treatment delivery.
- For Float Pool assignments, clock in to the specific unit being worked and follow unit-specific procedures.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and adapt to the Telemetry unit environment
- Strong critical thinking, clinical judgment, and the ability to supervise and coordinate care with an interdisciplinary team
- Excellent communication skills and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record
- Ability to adhere to unit-specific clock-in procedures when assigned from Float Pool
