Registered Nurse – Dialysis in a hospital-setting outpatient dialysis program in Burlington, VT. This is a travel, temporary assignment starting 06/29/2026 for approximately 16 weeks. The assignment includes exposure to ESRD and chronic renal patient care, with potential floating to other unit locations as needed. Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to outpatient dialysis patients with ESRD, including setup, initiation, and monitoring of dialysis treatments
- Assess patient status before, during, and after treatments; monitor vital signs, fluid balance, and reporting changes promptly
- Manage vascular access care and anticoagulation per nephrology protocol; address dialysis-related alarms and patient safety concerns
- Administer prescribed medications and troubleshoot medication-related issues during dialysis sessions
- Document care and treatment in the EPIC EMR with accurate vitals, treatments, and progress notes; communicate changes to the care team
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (nephrology, social work, dietitian) and coordinate care; float to additional unit locations as needed
- Ensure adherence to infection control, safety standards, and patient education on dialysis care and lifestyle

Requirements
- Active registered nurse (RN) license
- AHA BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience; minimum 1 year of outpatient dialysis experience
- EPIC EMR experience within the past 2 years
- Ability to work a flexible schedule; Saturday requirements; no block scheduling; willingness to float to other unit locations as needed
- RN education from an accredited program; licensure and practice aligned with state requirements
- Reliable transportation to and from shifts (public transit may be limited in the area)
