Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility and accountability for a group of patients during a designated shift, delivering nursing care based on the nursing process and the patient’s plan of care.
- Prescribe and coordinate nursing care in collaboration with physicians and the health care team, incorporating input from patients and families.
- Provide care to patients of various ages (as assigned on the unit), including planning for teaching and discharge needs.
- Delegate appropriate tasks to other nursing staff based on their clinical competence and legal scope of practice.
- Maintain accurate documentation, monitor patient safety, and support smooth unit operations throughout the shift.
Requirements
- Current California licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Ability to work nights and a 4x10-hour shift pattern
- Capacity to care for patients across age groups as assigned by unit
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the health care team
- Knowledge of the nursing process and discharge planning
- Eligibility to work a hospital-based travel assignment
