This is a travel, temporary assignment for a Med/Surg RN working nights in a general medical-surgical unit. The role requires adherence to unit policies, a strong focus on patient safety, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to provide evidence-based care. The assignment includes a 13-week contract with a nights rotation and a 36-hour workweek.

- Attendance policy: strict 3-strike attendance policy; three instances of absence or being more than 20 minutes late may result in immediate termination, with exceptions for documented communicable disease or hospitalization
- Experience and credentials: 2+ years of straight Med Surg required; Level II or I trauma-level experience required; travel assignment preferred
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct, patient-centered nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients; assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care plans
- Administer medications, monitor vital signs, manage IV therapy and other clinical treatments; respond to changes in patient condition and escalate as needed
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team; communicate effectively using SBAR and participate in daily rounds
- Document accurately in the medical record; ensure legible, timely documentation and adherence to clinical pathways
- Provide patient and family education; support discharge planning and appropriate referrals
- Uphold safety, quality standards, and evidence-based practices; participate in unit-based quality improvement and shared governance activities where applicable
Requirements
- Active Michigan RN license with verification via LARA and Nursys; provide any required addendum or explanation if a license issue exists
- BLS (AHA) certification
- 2+ years of straight Med-Surg nursing experience; not float, not SDU/Tele; must be a straight Med-Surg RN
- Must have Level II or I trauma-level unit experience (trauma designation required)
- Travel assignment; willingness to work night shifts and follow unit schedule
- A skills checklist completed within one year of application for RN specialties is required
