Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult patients in a PCU/IMCU setting with conditions such as sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergencies, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, and encephalopathy.
- Monitor patient status, administer medications, including IV therapies and anticoagulation as appropriate, and adjust care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Perform ongoing assessments, document findings, and communicate changes in patient condition to physicians and team members.
- Maintain high standards of patient safety, infection control, and adherence to unit protocols; participate in discharge planning and patient/family education as needed.
- Collaborate with health care professionals to ensure timely initiation of interventions (e.g., heparin drips, hemodynamic monitoring) and adherence to evidence-based practices.
- Respond to acute changes in patient condition, escalate as necessary, and participate in routine rounds and care coordination for a high-acuity population.

Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in IMCU/PCU or comparable acute care with exposure to sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergencies, and respiratory compromise
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Active RN license (or eligible for licensure) for the appropriate state or a compact license as applicable
- Ability to work night shifts on a 12-hour schedule and to maintain 48 hours per week
- Comfortable caring for patients requiring IV therapies and potential anticoagulation management
- Capable of working in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team
