Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a busy ED, including triage, rapid assessment, continuous monitoring, and appropriate interventions.
- Administer medications, assist with procedures, and support trauma activations as part of the ED team.
- Manage boarder patients and coordinate care with inpatient units, consultants, and ancillary services to optimize throughput and safety.
- Float to approved units (med/surg, step-down, ICU) when requested, maintaining competency across areas as needed.
- Document in the electronic medical record, ensure accurate handoffs, and educate patients and families as appropriate.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to maintain high-quality patient care and adherence to ED protocols and safety standards.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of ED experience in a facility of similar size and level 1 trauma capability.
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required.
- Resume with no gaps, ED skills checklist, and ED references required.
- Active RN license (in good standing) to practice in the applicable jurisdiction.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume ED and float to other units as needed.
