Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for ER patients per standards of care and the nursing process.
- Assess patient condition, develop and implement care plans, and evaluate progress toward outcomes.
- Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team; supervise and delegate duties to nursing staff as appropriate.
- Participate in discharge planning and provide education to patients and families.
- Document care accurately in the electronic health record and maintain patient safety and quality of care.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice (California)
- Minimum 2 years of recent ER/acute care nursing experience
- Current BLS certification; CPR required; CPR/BLS per recognized policy
- EPIC electronic medical record experience required
- Certifications: AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS; AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS; AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS; TEAM or CPI as applicable; NIH Stroke Scale required
- Education: BSN preferred
- Ability to work in a hospital ER setting
