Responsibilities
- Conduct head-to-toe assessments and ongoing reassessments per policy; monitor patient status throughout labor and postpartum care.
- Assess and manage pain using appropriate evaluation methods; educate patient and family on pain management strategies.
- Develop, revise, and evaluate the plan of care daily based on patient response to treatment.
- Deliver age-appropriate nursing care across the life span; administer medications following the five rights and ensure safe practice.
- Provide patient and family education; create and adjust teaching plans and involve family in treatment decisions.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team; document per standards and coordinate care with care coordination for in-hospital and post-discharge needs; maintain a safe environment and proper equipment use.
Requirements
- Active RN license in Ohio or Compact license required at time of submission.
- Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience; postpartum and nursery experience required.
- ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications through AHA required.
- BSN degree preferred.
- COVID-19 vaccination: if vaccinated, provide vaccination card.
