Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for outpatient oncology patients in the radiation therapy department, supervising and directing nursing staff as needed and coordinating care with other disciplines.
- Conduct baseline assessments and nursing histories for outpatients, including vital signs, pain assessment, and medication history; document using Oncology Nursing Society guidelines.
- Assess fall risk and allergies; communicate pertinent changes to physicians and the care team.
- Perform weekly assessments for signs and symptoms related to radiation therapy; prepare charts for initial and follow-up visits and communicate pertinent changes to the physician.
- Assist physicians with procedures performed in the radiation therapy department (including Stereotactic Radiosurgery and High Dose Rate brachytherapy); prepare exam rooms, take vital signs, and maintain instruments.
- Perform blood draws and start IV therapy for administration of intravenous contrast; administer medications as ordered and provide supplemental oxygen when needed; serve as a resource for transportation and scheduling coordination between patients and therapists.

Requirements
- Current California RN license (required).
- BSN preferred; oncology nurse experience in a radiation department preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in oncology/radiation therapy nursing.
- BLS (CPR) certification required.
- Oncology Nursing Certification (ONC) or Chemotherapy Immunotherapy (CHIM) or ONC/ONCC-CHIM required.
- Epic EMR experience required.
