Travel Registered Nurse ICU Job
Registered Nurse – ICU, travel assignment in Olathe, Kansas. Start date: 05/10/2026. Estimated duration: 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,039–$2,164 per week. Guaranteed hours: 0. Shift: 3x12-hour Nights. Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital with an ICU/PCU hybrid unit.

- Floating: will float to PCU/CCU and all inpatient units as needed
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to critically ill adults in an ICU/PCU hybrid unit, delivering evidence-based nursing interventions.
- Monitor and manage patients with complex neuro/spine/cardiac/medical/surgical conditions; respond to changes in patient status and initiate appropriate actions.
- Manage invasive devices and therapies relevant to critical care, including balloon pump, CRRT, Impella, and post-open-heart surgery care; draw labs as needed.
- Perform PICC line care and blood draws; operate without a vascular access team; call on own consults; participate in codes and resuscitation when required.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and adjust individualized care plans; educate patients and families on treatment plans, procedures, and discharge expectations.
- Maintain flexibility to float to PCU/CCU and other inpatient units (Med/Surg, Med/Tele, Acute/Tele, ED) as unit needs dictate.
Requirements
- Licensure: KS RN or Compact RN license
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHF (as specified)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent Critical Care/Intensive Care Unit experience
- Skills: Experience with balloon pump, CRRT, Impella, and open-heart patient care (must have for night shifts)
- Additional: Ability to work in a mixed ICU/PCU environment and to float to related inpatient units as needed
