Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care in the Emergency Department, including triage, treatment, and discharge planning for patients from newborns to geriatrics.
- Monitor patient status, administer medications and therapies per orders, and document care in the medical record.
- Perform rapid assessments, respond to changes in patient condition, and escalate to physicians and the care team as needed.
- Collaborate with the CNA and ED team to manage patient flow, admissions, and discharges; participate in shift handoffs.
- Adhere to patient safety, infection control, and ED protocols; ensure comfort and dignity of patients and families.
Requirements
- Active RN license to practice in California
- Graduation from an approved nursing program (RN)
- Ability to work nights in a high-acuity ED environment
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Experience in emergency department or acute care settings preferred
