Responsibilities
- Perform CT scans per established protocols, including CT chest, abdomen, pelvis, and other appropriate exams, ensuring image quality and patient safety
- Position patients correctly, select appropriate imaging protocols, and adjust parameters to optimize diagnostic quality while minimizing dose
- Prepare, administer (as indicated by protocol), and monitor contrast media; respond to adverse reactions according to protocol
- Safely operate CT imaging equipment (including GE scanners when applicable); adhere to ALARA principles and radiation safety guidelines
- Document procedures and images in the EPIC EMR system; communicate findings to radiologists and medical team as needed
- Prioritize patient comfort and safety, screen for contraindications, and maintain sterile techniques and infection control throughout imaging procedures
Requirements
- Current California Certificate of Radiologic Technology (CRT) issued by the Department of Health Services
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART) certification
- Fluoroscopy permit
- CPR Certification (current)
- At least 2 years of CT scanning experience; experience with GE scanners preferred
- EPIC EMR experience
- Prior traveler assignment experience
