Responsibilities
- Provide advanced critical care nursing to adult ICU patients according to care plans and physician orders.
- Monitor patient status, telemetry, hemodynamics, and respond rapidly to changes; titrate therapies as directed.
- Administer medications and IV therapies, including appropriate use of vasoactive infusions, sedatives, analgesics, and anticoagulants following protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team; participate in rounds and update the care plan as needed.
- Perform bedside procedures within scope of practice; manage lines, tubes, drains, and ventilator support as required; ensure device functioning and patient safety.
- Document all nursing care, assessments, and patient status in the electronic health record; uphold infection control and safety standards.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license (state licensure or multi-state/compliant licensure as required for practice).
- ICU nursing experience preferred (1+ year) or demonstrated critical care competency.
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and adapt to a high-acuity, fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with critical care monitoring, ventilator management, and complex patient care needs.
- Must reside 80+ miles from the facility to support this assignment.
